TBC Hotels, a subsidiary of Washington, DC based real estate investment firm The Bernstein Companies (TBC), approached Sol Vista Consulting with the goal of improving the efficiency of its four hotels. To help TBC Hotels realize its goal, Sol Vista applied its strategically green asset optimization model, which included:
- analyzing building and utility data;
- preparing a phased action plan prioritizing asset performance;
- executing targeted facility audits; and
- implementing operational improvements and equipment retrofits.

In light of TBC Hotels' successes, TBC hired Sol Vista to assist with measures to enhance its full portfolio of 19 buildings. As an initial step, Sol Vista recommended and advised TBC on several portfolio-wide measures, including:
